Glimpses

Welcome to my home

Visionaire 50th issue nesting dolls

Some of my "shi shi" books, unopened mini champagnes I received for my 21st birthday.
A print Richard Kern gave to me when I worked for him, I have been keeping this safe for over a year now I should really get it framed because it's amazing and from his earlier work which I looove.
"for like ever" poster made famous by a Domino issue, art books, and my little headless doll that I found in an antique store downtown.
my other cat, Crumb, who is kind of a bitch
A pigeon skeleton that was a birthday present, inside joke. His name is Leonard.
vintage Playboys, photo of my mother and I from my first trip to Korea 14 years ago
My favorite Cynthia Rowley mug, it's huge.
I'm super lucky to have such an awesome view of the city. I can see north, west all the way to New Jersey, and east to Brooklyn and Queens.

Black tie

Last night my parents and I attended a KACF gala in the city which was an amazing event, very touching speeches and stories. It was a black tie occasion and I wanted to take advantage of the rare opportunity to dress up :) I went to Phillip Lim knowing I would be able to find something there..and I did! Asymmetric black silk and chiffon, with lace ruffle details. I love the contrast between the different materials. There was only about 25 minutes for me to get ready after class, so my hair and make-up were kind of sloppy haha, oh well.

I didn't bring my camera so my mom took a quick shot of me before.
Phillip Lim dress, YSL shoes, vintage beaded clutch, Isharya earrings

And for some more pretty things, I had dinner at Eleven Madison and these are the complimentary mini macarons and fruit pate they always give after dinner. The orange one was my favorite, tasted exactly like how fall should taste. A lot of restaurants do the truffles and macarons after dinner, but they're always so mediocre. Eleven Madison actually tastes like theirs are from a French bakery, mm!

Sky high

Since the weather's getting quite chilly I'm trying to squeeze in the last of my sandals, however these YSL Tribute heels are something I bought this weekend. They've been released season after season for some time now and I'm surprised I didn't buy a pair earlier, they're great and definitely the highest shoes I have right now. Tripping in these things would only result in horrific pain.

Zara embellished blazer, Topshop jeans, bracets by Cartier, Hermes, and BCBG

Halloween, my favorite holiday, is around the corner! What is everyone being?? Hopefully by this picture you can figure out who I'll dress up as..

cheers!

.....

A recent purchase, this super thin leather jacket that feels softer than cashmere and drapes beautifully. It has a sort of matte finish that makes it look delicate like fabric and from far away it looks like a sweater. Wearing with super wide leg pants I bought last winter when I had an obsession with this silhouette

Vince leather jacket, Kain shirt, Zimmerman pants, Chanel ring and watch.

This weekend I also threw another dinner party! Usually it's mostly girls but this time there were 5 guys that eat a ton so I made hearty fall comfort foods. Zucchini gratin, Julia Child's famous beef bourguignon recipe, and individual apple & cranberry crisps that were made with the apples that I picked. While they were baking my friend and I made a dash to a deli across the street for some vanilla ice-cream to scoop on top OMG so good, the hot and cold combination was out of this world. I highly recommend the bourguignon recipe even though it was a bit labor intensive and painful..hot oil was splattering all over me while I sauteed the beef. It was the first time I ever made it and even though I am usually not a fan of beef dishes this was as Rachel Zoe would say, ah-maaazing!

might look a bit unappetizing but the photo lies!

How do you like them apples?

This past weekend my parents and I went apple picking at this orchard we used to go to when I was a little kid. It's in upstate NY called Lawrence Farms. It drizzled a little but it was still a nice break away from the city and it was like a trip down memory lane. We picked a total of 17 bags (they like to give a lot to their friends) and now I have a nice supply of fresh apples, time for crisps and tarts!

feeding the goats that were VERY enthusiastic, clearly.

super long apple picker
I look so miserable but I was just tired and taking a break!

I wore a J.Crew jacket with a tshirt I got from Blacktooth, Zara jeans and new DKNY boots. They got scuffed up but I don't mind.
