Summer appropriate

What I wore to get lunch with a friend at Baoguette and scored some cupcakes from the Cupcake Stop truck that's usually parked very close to my apartment. I haven't worn this jumper as often as I should have this summer. Normally I don't like to spend that much money on clothes, I prefer splurging on shoes and accessories, but this was one of those "have to have" items and then when I saw it go on sale I was a little sad..hate when that happens.

Opening Ceremony jumper, F-Troupe sandals, Chanel bag.

Banh mi aka Vietnamese sandwiches have been getting really popular in the city but the best is definitely the Baoguette on 26th St. and Lexington. There's no seating so Brian and I went to the Baoguette cafe on St. Marks where we both had the original Baoguette sandwich - pork pate, pork terrine, pickled daikon, cilantro, and cucumber but I detest cilantro so I get mine without. Their bread is like crack, so perfectly toasted and flavorful.

cappuchinno, almond, banana chocolate chip
Big Gay Ice-Cream truck! Looks like they hijacked a Mister Softee and homosexualized it.

Feline qualities

This outfit is from a little while ago before the heat wave hit New York and it's been disgusting lately...way too freaking hot! I've always been on the fence about animal prints but I really love the graphic quality of the Stephen Sprouse leopard items and the print of the skirt reminds me of those.

An amazing vintage Judith Leiber belt from my mother. I remember her wearing this when I was a little kid and was fascinated by how pretty it was. Thanks, Mom!

Club Monaco blazer, Kain t-shirt, Zara skirt, Gucci Dahlia pumps

I was sick for the past few days with sinus headaches and since I can't watch t.v. or go on the computer that much I baked! I was hardcore craving chocolate cookies but only had ingredients for these coconut cupcakes and then had fun decorating them with colored frosting, sprinkles, and toasted coconut flakes. It's got cream cheese frosting.....mmm.....

Decor inspiration

I've been living in my current apartment for little over a year now and I still haven't completed decorating it. The process has been long and arduous due to my bad habits of being fickle. I tend to love something and after a few months get tired of it, BUT I've been good about my decisions so far..I mean it took me 5 months to decide on a sofa I should definitely be thrilled with it. This one is where I'll be settling for quite a long time and that's why I'm putting in the effort to making it a real "home" and I couldn't live without amazing blogs and magazines for inspiration.

Onesies and dinner parties

I picked up a new romper from Pixie Market, a really cute boutique in the Lower East Side. It's nice and blousey and short, my favorite silhouette! There's also a gigantic slit in the back that lets some skin peep through. Worn with Valentino heels, Hermes collier de chien cuff, various gold bracelets, and my Van Cleef necklace.

the shoes are actually half a size too big so they're uncomfortable to walk in, OH WELL.

I mentioned in the previous post that I was having a dinner party at my place. I got some absolutely delicious local corn on the cob that I grilled and slathered with chili butter (recipe here omg so freaking yummy), Ina Garten's sandwich version of a deconstructed caesar salad, the mac & cheese, and homemade popsicles! 4 girls pigging out is a funny sight to see.

it's like Mexican street corn except I'm not a fan of cotija cheese so I use parmesan.

blueberry and strawberry popsicles! I haven't used these since I was like 11.

Kersh & Chickdowntown

Hey guys, Chickdowntown has given another amazing opportunity to win some free clothes! I selected this really cute sweater/vest combo from a label called Kersh. The sweater would be really adorable layered over loose fitting white t-shirt and I really love that they added stripes to the sleeve.

The same rules apply: Available only to U.S. readers only and will go from today to August 26th at 12 pm. If the winner's size in this particular item is no longer available, the winner will be able choose any item from Kersh. Also, if the randomly chosen winner has already won a prize from chickdowntown.com, a different winner will be chosen so that more people have the opportunity to win. Thank you for understanding!

So just leave me your email address and a comment about the label! Good luck :)

Barbie shoes and cheesey truffle goodness

As I've said before, I have quite the obsession with all things pink but don't usually wear pink items besides shoes. So when I spotted these Prada pumps at Barneys I almost started jumping up and down because they're total Barbie shoes! They were on sale for an incredible price as well and I don't really have too many shoes that fall into the classic pump category, even though this color is a little unorthodox.

Wearing a Club Monaco blazer, J Brand jeans, and Chanel 2.55 bag.

I made a white truffle mac & cheese Friday night and baked it off Saturday afternoon for my lunch. I was supposed to save the ingredients for a dinner party I'm having tonight but it was impossible to wait..my mouth was salivating. Ina Garten has the perfect mac & cheese recipe, I just tweak it by adding 2 Tbs of white truffle oil which tastes soooooooo good with the gruyere and sharp cheddar. It makes a lot so I'll definitely have some leftover to serve to guests but omg, I feel guilty snacking on this stuff--so fattening!!!!!

And a little Sofia champagne to make it a real weekend brunch meal :)

Wtf weather

Alright, I'm completely over summer. New York summer is especially awful because the heat and humidity stays trapped in our wonderful little island making it so unbearable. I want to wear my blazers and boots and scarves already!!! Today had brunch with my parents in the Upper East Side and I wore my Opening Ceremony boots and an H&M dress .

Picked up some macarons from Madeline.

How cute is this box? The embossed flowers are too pretty to throw away.

Almond, my favorite.

Passionfruit-mango

Not a good day to wear suede shoes, so disgusting. The Empire State Building is getting swallowed by fog.
